Job summary

The City of El Paso Texas is seeking a senior leader to direct Engineering Data Services and the enterprise GIS program. You will develop long-term GIS strategies, govern data standards, and oversee field data collection operations, fleet and survey equipment management, and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities include leading staff, setting performance expectations, coordinating with IT and asset management, and reporting on program performance and risks to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in GIS, Engineering, Information Systems, Geography, Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible GIS/geospatial experience; two (2) years in a managerial capacity.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the strategic, operational, and administrative functions of Engineering Data Services and enterprise GIS.
• Develop long-term GIS strategies and roadmaps; govern data standards and quality across departments.
• Lead staff onboarding, role definition, performance expectations, and cross-department collaboration.
• Advise executive leadership on data strategy, risk, and technology investments; manage budget and contracts.
