Job summary

City of El Paso is seeking a GIS Specialist to provide technical support for GIS systems, databases, and related software. You will collaborate with the facilities team to manage data entry and generate insights for maintenance decisions.

The role requires a B.S. in CS/IS/Engineering or related field with 2 years GIS/data processing experience and a CJIS background check within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, and two years of GIS or data processing experience.
• Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent required at the time of appointment.
• CJIS background check within six months and CJIS eligibility required for DoITS positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for GIS systems, software applications, and databases under supervision.
• Collaborate with facilities management to support GIS data entry and analysis for decision-making.
• Plan and organize operation of facilities information systems in coordination with the DoITS, and create/train users.
