Job summary
City of San Diego is seeking a Program Manager to lead the Enterprise GIS program, overseeing citywide geospatial systems, data stewardship, integrations, and analytics that support decision-making.
The Program Manager will report to the Deputy Director and manage GIS analysts, data stewards, and coordinators, ensuring a secure, reliable EGIS environment aligned with city needs and resident services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of GIS or technology experience, with 3+ years supervising staff or programs.
- Experience leading enterprise GIS environments and data governance is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise GIS program including ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, lifecycle management, performance, and reliability.
- Oversee stewardship of authoritative geospatial datasets with quality assurance and standardization.
- Manage integrations between GIS and enterprise systems to support workflows and data sharing.
- Develop EGIS strategic roadmaps aligned with City priorities and departmental needs.
- Coordinate upgrades and maintenance of geospatial infrastructure.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of GIS professionals and foster career development.
