Job summary

The City of Glendale’s Innovation & Technology department seeks a Sr. GIS Analyst to lead the design, development, and maintenance of GIS web applications, maps, and databases.

You will supervise other GIS staff, coordinate with leadership, and ensure delivery of GIS solutions that meet City needs. The role requires a Bachelor's in GIS or related field with five years of ESRI experience, and proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field and five years of ESRI software experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience may qualify.
• One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
• Experience with data analysis and GIS web applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads efforts to research, analyze and evaluate requests for new or improved GIS products including maps and web applications with emphasis on business need and benefit.
• Derives accurate GIS map and application needs analysis through stakeholder interviews.
• Designs, develops and implements web-based GIS (ArcGIS Portal and ArcGIS Online) applications utilizing City standards and practices.
• Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams and vendors for guidance on GIS functionality.
• Ensures code changes are committed and documented in City repository; maintains GIS architecture docs.
• Implements security procedures to safeguard city infrastructure and data.
