Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Senior Geographic Information System Analyst to lead the development and maintenance of the GIS, including web, desktop, and mobile applications. You will guide a team of technical staff, provide advanced analysis, and ensure data integrity across geospatial databases.

Essential duties include project management, coordinating resources, coding, testing, and implementing GIS solutions that support departmental goals and enterprise-wide GIS deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Planning or Engineering.
• 3+ years of GIS management, design, or implementation experience.
• Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/Server and relational databases (SQL Server/ Oracle).
• Proficiency in Python, HTML5, SQL, and data integration tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level analytical support for GIS projects and assist in project planning and budgeting.
• Lead GIS project development, track progress and ensure quality standards.
• Coordinate internal resources and vendors for large-scale GIS initiatives.
• Develop and maintain web, desktop, and mobile GIS applications.
• Analyze data requests and support management objectives with IT solutions.
• Mentor GIS analysts and technicians on database and software usage.
• Develop web map applications enabling location-based information retrieval.
• Support specification development and hardware/software deployment for GIS.
• Evaluate current systems and recommend improvements for performance.
