Job summary

The California Academy of Sciences seeks an Associate Director of Gift Planning to lead the administration of life-income gifts and to collaborate with the Leadership Philanthropy team. This role supervises the Planned Giving Coordinator and drives the initiative to secure blended gifts and endowments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; advanced degree or law degree preferred.
• Five years in a planned giving role within nonprofit fundraising.
• Experience managing a portfolio of planned gifts; donor stewardship and closing gifts.
• At least 2 years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, and solicit planned gifts, standalone or blended with major gifts.
• Secure gifts through prospects, advisors, and coordinated fundraising.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan to integrate planned giving with donor cultivation.
• Set multi-year goals for blended gifts in coordination with leadership gifts.
• Oversee the Eastwood Associates legacy society and events; manage the planned giving budget.
• Enhance the planned giving website and marketing collateral; collaborate with marketing and membership.
