Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a HIM or related coding program.
• CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts relevant clinical information from the medical records.
• Assigns GI Procedural ICD-10 and CPT/CDM codes in accordance with coding and reimbursement guidelines.
• Maintains daily coding, charge entry, and reconciliation functions for all assigned GI Physicians, expecting 95% accuracy and productivity of 75 - 85 procedures daily.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
