Job summary

Qualifications

• CPC certification or CCS/CCS-P required or equivalent credential.
• Minimum coding experience in a medical setting is required.
• Proficiency in multispecialty E/M and bedside procedure coding.
• Experience in a physician office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstract ICD-10 and CPT codes for professional services.
• Mentor Professional Coders I and II.
• Review and analyze medical records for diagnosis, evaluation and management, minor procedures, or other codes for accuracy.
• Research coding guidelines and report issues to management to ensure proper coding practices.
• Maintain communication with Management, Practice Manager, and Provider for timely notification of documentation issues.
• Provide continuing education to clinical staff and providers.
• Meet deadlines and stay highly organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain an accuracy score of 95%+ for CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Adhere to regulatory compliance and IT security policies for remote access where applicable.
