Job summary

Quaise Energy is pioneering superhot geothermal drilling to provide clean, baseload power. The Senior Drilling Engineer translates subsurface goals into practical well designs, oversees planning, cost estimation, and risk mitigation, and partners across disciplines to execute complex drilling programs safely.

This role requires hands-on field judgment, strong engineering fundamentals, and the ability to adapt conventional drilling practices to geothermal applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, mechanical, chemical engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of drilling engineering, well construction, or drilling operations experience in geothermal, oil and gas, mining, or subsurface industries.
• Well control certification preferred.
• Experience developing drilling programs, casing and cementing designs, AFEs, and post‑well reviews.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engineered drilling and well construction programs, procedures, and cost estimates.
• Lead well design, casing and cementing programs, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate Plan Forward drilling procedures with field crews and contractors.
• Review offset well histories and operator data for planning.
• Manage vendor selection and performance of drilling services and tubulars.
• Ensure field data quality in databases and adherence to EHS policies.
• Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, land, and EHS for project alignment.
• Provide field support and post‑well closeout documentation.
