Job summary

Quaise Energy is seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer to plan, design, and execute complex geothermal well construction programs. The role translates subsurface objectives into practical field drilling plans, with responsibility for well design quality, operational readiness, risk mitigation, and cost estimates.

The position requires collaboration with geology, reservoir and HSE teams, and may involve travel to drilling sites and vendor locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, mechanical, chemical engineering or related discipline.
Experience in geothermal drilling and well construction is required.
Ability to develop drilling programs, casing and cementing designs, procedures, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver engineered drilling and well construction programs, procedures, and cost estimates.
Lead technical planning for wells, including well design and risk assessment.
Coordinate plan-forward procedures and reviews with drilling crews.
Review offset data and select efficient, safe service contractors.
Maintain quality drilling reports and data accuracy in field databases.
Ensure EHS policies are followed across operations.
Act as mentor to junior drilling engineers as the team grows.
Support post-well closeout, after-action reviews, and lessons learned.
