Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking an Asset Reservoir Engineer to lead asset development planning and perform reservoir engineering analyses for geothermal projects. You will shape development strategy, manage reservoirs, and improve capital efficiency across the portfolio.

Collaboration across subsurface, engineering, and operations will drive data acquisition, modeling, production forecasting, and reservoir management decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher.
• Minimum 6+ years engineering experience in oil & gas or geothermal.
• 1+ years field experience in oil & gas, geothermal, or similar operations.
• Experience in asset development planning and economic models for asset decisions.
• Experience in production forecasting and probabilistic analysis.
• Experience with hydraulic fracturing and stimulation in unconventional resources.
• Experience with commercial reservoir simulation software (ResFrac/Eclipse/CMG/Tough2/IX/TETRAD).
• Experience with GOHFER/Kinetix/StimPlan/FrackOptima for fracture design.
• Knowledge of geomechanics and thermodynamics.
• Experience with data analytics tools like Spotfire or Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recommendations based on technical evaluation.
• Coordinate and support cross-functional teams to refine development plans.
• Evaluate economics of asset plans and scenarios.
• Collaborate with subsurface teams to plan data acquisition.
• Interpret stimulation data to inform completion design.
• Analyze production, injection, pressure, rate-transient, DFIT data, and tracers.
• Conduct uncertainty studies for reservoir tests and well performance.
• Use reservoir simulations to support operational decisions.
• Develop data acquisition and well testing programs for field projects.
• Develop production forecasts and reservoir management strategies.
