NV5 is seeking a Sr. Staff Geotechnical Engineer in Southern California with a proven track record of leading subsurface exploration, testing, analysis, and reporting on complex projects.

You will mentor field staff, develop project proposals, and ensure deliverables align with schedule and budget while maintaining NV5 safety standards. This role is located in Torrance or Irvine, CA and requires willingness to travel for field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or higher.
• EIT certification desired; PE licensure expected to be pursued.
• Minimum 2+ years geotechnical field experience and construction exposure.

Responsabilités

• Assist with planning and execution of projects with complex features.
• Review work for QC compliance per manual.
• Supervise field technicians and coordinate assignments.
• Develop and review technical and cost proposals and deliverables.
• Observe and approve foundation excavations, ground improvements, shoring, and cut/fill slopes.
• Manage subsurface explorations and logging, install geotechnical instruments, and supervise subs contractors.
