Job summary

NV5 is seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Ventura, CA office. You will lead geotechnical projects, perform analyses for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, and seismic assessments, and mentor staff.

Requires at least 5 years in geotechnical engineering, a California PE (GE preferred) and strong proposal/business development skills. Compensation includes medical/dental/life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Geotechnical design and calculations for excavations and building foundations.
• Seismic risk analysis and soil-structure interaction analyses.

NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER for a leadership position in its Ventura, CA office. The Ventura office provides consulting engineering services which include, conventional geotechnical services and construction materials testing services, as well as, advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors.

• Must have experience with geotechnical design and calculations for permanent and temporary support systems for excavation and building foundations.
• Seismic risk analysis and soil structure interaction analyses abilities.
• A qualified candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Possess an advanced degree in geotechnical engineering, have experience in processing foundation reports, and experience as a project manager.
• A California PE required. California GE or ability to quickly obtain GE is required.
• Experience with software including gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD, and CAD is preferred.
• Senior level is based on experience.

Certifications/Licenses

• P.E. (G.E. Preferred)

The pay range for this California position is $150,000- $180,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location.
