Job summary

GFT is seeking a Senior Project Geotechnical Engineer - Project Manager to join our Texas team. The role supports hybrid work, with regular attendance at Texas locations or remote work depending on location.

The successful candidate will evaluate subsurface data, perform site characterization, seepage and slope stability analyses for water storage projects, and contribute to hydropower engineering efforts. Strong leadership and client-relations skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
• 10+ years of increasing responsibility in geotechnical engineering.
• Experience in project management.
• Texas Professional Engineering license.
• Knowledge of GDH practices for foundation design and seismic hazard evaluation.
• Proficient in reports, plans, specs, and estimates (PS&E).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office; familiar with FLAC, GeoStudio, Mathcad.

Responsibilities

• Plan and determine scope, resources, schedule, and budget for major/complex projects.
• Independently design and lead major projects.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams with subcontractors and subconsultants.
• Apply extensive knowledge to evaluate and apply techniques and analyses.
• Provide construction support and assist client with bid activities; oversee field changes and inspections.
• Review project documents for conformity and QA.
• Develop new business and expand client base.
• Collaborate with teams on pursuit and capture efforts.
• Build client relationships and manage expectations; assist with risk evaluation.
