Job summary

GFT seeks a Senior Project Geotechnical Engineer - Project Manager to join our team in Texas. This hybrid role may be remote depending on location and requires expertise in subsurface data, site characterization, seepage and slope stability for water storage projects.

The candidate will lead major projects, supervise junior staff, drive business development, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on dams, hydropower, and infrastructure projects across Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college
• 10+ years of increasing responsibility in geotechnical engineering
• Experience in project management
• Professional Engineer license in Texas
• Knowledge of GDH practices for foundation design, seismic hazard evaluation and slope stability
• Proficient in creating reports, plans, specs and estimates
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office and similar programs
• Knowledge of GeoStudio, FLAC, Mathcad, and related tools

Responsibilities

• Plan scope, resources, schedule, and budget for major projects
• Independently design and lead major projects
• Lead large projects with multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors
• Apply extensive knowledge to evaluate and implement analyses
• Support construction activities, bid processes, inspections, and field changes
• Review project documents for quality and conformity
• Develop new business and client relationships
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for project pursuit and capture
• Assist in meetings and present engineering assignments
• Represent the organization in engineering communications
