Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager in Charlotte, NC to lead geotechnical projects within the Earth & Environment group. The role combines engineering leadership with project management across foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and related works for infrastructure and private development.

The position emphasizes client relationship development, proposal involvement, and mentorship of entry- and mid-level engineers, with hybrid in-person/remote work options

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis; MS preferred.
• PE license required for Senior Geotechnical role.
• 7–10+ years of professional geotechnical and project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple geotechnical projects within the Earth & Environment group.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers.
• Develop cost estimates, schedules, and project plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• QA/QC and data interpretation from field investigations.
• Coordinate with regulators, subcontractors, and clients.
