Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead design and analysis for power, industrial and water projects across North America. You will supervise geotechnical reports, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor staff while ensuring project execution meets safety and quality standards.

Based in Lenexa, KS or Houston, TX, with travel to project sites as required, you’ll apply deep soil mechanics knowledge, site characterization, and foundation design to

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with focus in site characterization, site development, shallow and deep foundations.
• Design-build and EPC project experience is a PLUS.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the U.S.
• Experience with subsurface exploration, site development, earth retention, slope stability, soft soils, ground improvement, deep foundations, shallow foundations, seismic and liquefaction assessments, machine foundation and/or tank foundation design is an asset.
• Experience working in a team setting and directing the work of others.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
• Strong people skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• The physical ability to access construction sites in varying climates.
• Experience working with AI agents and tools preferred.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for engineering assignments in support of Kiewit Corporation business.
• Supports the pursuit phase development of innovative and cost-effective design.
• Works within a diverse team to capture and implement design lessons and innovations across multiple business units.
• Leads geotechnical detailed design with interdisciplinary teams.
• Trains and develops staff geotechnical engineers.
