Candidates should have an MS/PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering and 7–14 years of experience, with WA PE eligibility. Travel and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical specialty)
• MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering (or Geological Engineering)
• 7 to 14 years of geotechnical experience
• PE License in WA or eligible within 3 months of hire
• Mentoring and supervisory experience
• Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to travel to support other Shannon & Wilson offices
• Valid driver license and insurable driving record
• MS Word and Excel proficiency; MS Access desirable

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple clients, contracts, and projects concurrently
• Perform geotechnical analyses, studies, and calculations
• Prepare and write engineering and other reports
• Conduct field explorations, sample collection, geological reconnaissance, and mapping
• Perform construction observation and document logs
