The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will manage multiple clients and projects, perform analyses, write reports, and mentor staff while traveling as needed to support various Shannon & Wilson offices.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus
• MS or PhD in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering preferred
• 7–14 years geotechnical engineering experience
• California PE license required; GE license preferred
• Mentoring and supervisory experience
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple clients, contracts, and projects concurrently.
• Perform geotechnical analyses, studies, and calculations.
• Prepare and write engineering reports.
• Conduct field explorations, sampling, mapping, and reconnaissance.
• Provide construction observation and documentation.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise engineers and staff.
• Review staff reports and calculations for accuracy.
• Support business development with proposals and presentations.
• Adhere to QA, health & safety, and loss prevention policies.
