Job summary

Baird is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team, focusing on marine nearshore, coastal, and hydraulic infrastructure projects. You will contribute to planning, design, and implementation of ports, marine terminals, and waterfront structures while integrating earth, water, and structural interactions.

The ideal candidate has a strong geotechnical foundation, hands-on leadership, and the ability to mentor engineers across multiple offices. Travel and U.S.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Geotechnical Engineering, Ph.D. preferred.
• 10+ years of geotechnical experience in marine, coastal, or hydraulic projects.
• P.E. registration required; multi-state P.E. a plus.
• Strong knowledge of soil/rock mechanics, seismicity, liquefaction.
• Experience leading multi-office, cross-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert within multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Provide geotechnical design support for marine and hydraulic infrastructure projects.
• Develop and supervise geotechnical data acquisition campaigns.
• Prepare geotechnical scopes, proposals, and reports.
• Review historical siting reports for ports and marine terminals.
• Assist in developing plans and specifications.
• Oversee project delivery from concept to completion.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight.
• Collaborate across offices and time zones.
• Participate in proposals and client presentations.
