Job summary

Baird seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and support marine, nearshore, and hydraulic infrastructure projects. You will oversee geotechnical design, data campaigns, and QA reviews while guiding a team across multiple offices.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced geotechnical degree and a professional engineer license, with 10+ years of experience in marine or hydraulic sites and strong leadership skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• MSc/MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or higher; PhD preferred.
• Pe rsistent professional engineer license (P.E. / P.Eng.).
• Extensive geotechnical knowledge for marine/coastal projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME within multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed project teams.
• Provide geotechnical design support for marine, coastal, and hydraulic infrastructure projects.
• Develop, manage, and supervise geotechnical and geophysical data acquisition campaigns.
• Prepare and review geotechnical work scopes, proposals, and engineering reports.
• Conduct independent QA reviews of historical reports for ports and marine terminals.
• Assist in the development of plans and specifications.
• Oversee project delivery from conception to completion.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight for junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate across multiple offices and time zones.
• Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
