NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Nevada City, CA to lead geotechnical projects and mentor engineers.

The role involves managing complex assignments, developing proposals, and cultivating client relationships across municipal, commercial, and public sectors. The ideal candidate will have CA licensure capabilities (RG/CEG/PE/GE) and 8+ years in geotechnical engineering, with a track record in hillside design, retaining structures, seismics, and forensic

Qualifications

• BS or Master's Degree in a related technical field required; Geotechnical is desired.
• 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Licensed in CA as RG/CEG/PE/GE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Leads by example, supports the firm’s goals and objectives, and follows the firm’s policies and procedures.
• Manage large-scale, complex projects to ensure effective group functioning and project deliverables.
• Generate and monitor MIS reports to proactively manage group workload and profitability.
• Lead project managers, interact with clients to resolve problems, and guide staff performance.
• Manage administrative staff and daily workflow, including documentation and performance evaluations.
• Develop proposals, maintain client relationships, and pursue new revenue opportunities.
• Oversee group budgets, WIP, AR, and timely billing and collections.
• Provide coaching, training, and conduct performance appraisals.
