Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for the Burlington, NJ sector to lead investigations, analysis, and reporting. You will own projects end-to-end, from scoping and pricing to final sealed reports, while directing field staff and subsurface activities across New Jersey and the greater Philadelphia area.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage clients, and collaborate with environmental and structural teams to deliver integrated geotechnical solutions and grow the practice.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis.
• NJ P.E. license (or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months); PA P.E. a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience, including project management and report sealing.

Responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and price subsurface investigation programs and manage drilling subcontractors.
• Perform geotechnical analyses: bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, seismic site class.
• Prepare and seal geotechnical reports, letters, and construction-phase recommendations as engineer of record.
• Direct laboratory soils testing programs (AASHTO/ASTM) and interpret results.
• Provide construction-phase geotechnical support on site and in reviews.
• Serve as senior client contact and support proposals and business development.
• Mentor staff engineers and field technicians.
• Coordinate with Atlas CMT, environmental, and structural teams on integrated scopes.
