Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations, analyses, and reporting for the Burlington, NJ sector, serving as engineer of record for projects statewide. You will scope subsurface programs, direct drilling crews, perform analyses, seal reports, and mentor staff while collaborating with other Atlas teams.

The role offers growth, client engagement, and a pathway to leadership within a collaborative, safety‑focused environment.

Qualifications

B.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis.
New Jersey P.E. license or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months; PA a plus.
8+ years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience including project management and report sealing.
Valid driver's license and ability to visit active construction sites.
Strong writing and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

Plan, scope, and price subsurface investigations and manage drilling subcontractors.
Perform geotechnical analyses: bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, deep foundations.
Prepare and seal geotechnical reports and construction-phase recommendations.
Direct laboratory soils testing programs and interpret results.
Provide construction-phase geotechnical support and observe piles.
Serve as senior client contact and mentor junior staff.
Coordinate with Atlas CMT, environmental, and structural teams.
