Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations, analysis and reporting for the Burlington, NJ sector and serve as engineer of record. You will own projects end-to-end, directing field staff, preparing sealed reports, and supporting proposals and business growth.

The role requires a NJ P.E. license, 8+ years in geotechnical consulting, and strong writing and client communication skills. Travel to field sites and cross-disciplinary collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis.
• NJ P.E. license, or ability to obtain by comity within 6 months.
• 8+ years geotechnical consulting experience with project management and report sealing.
• Strong writing and client communication skills.
• Familiarity with NJDEP, NJDOT, PennDOT standards and geotechnical logs.
• Willingness to mentor staff and grow the geotechnical practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan, scope, price subsurface investigations and manage drilling subcontractors.
• Perform geotechnical analyses: bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, lateral earth pressures.
• Prepare and seal geotechnical reports and recommendations as engineer of record.
• Direct laboratory soils testing programs and interpret results.
• Provide construction-phase geotechnical support on projects.
• Engage with clients, support proposals, BD, and growth of the practice.
• Mentor staff and coordinate with cross-discipline teams.
