Job summary

Engineering & Testing Services (ETS) is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and construction materials testing projects. You will own major assignments, nurture client relationships and mentor a technical team in a flexible onsite/office environment in Portsmouth, VA.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Geotechnical engineering degree and a PE license, with seven years of relevant experience and a strong track record in geotechnical design and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred (Virginia licensure preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive geotechnical experience in consulting or construction materials testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple geotechnical projects from proposal to final delivery, managing scope, budgets, schedules, staffing and quality.
• Direct subsurface exploration programmes (SPT, CPT, borings, sampling, instrumentation).
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, calculations and recommendations; sign/seal where required.
