Job summary

WSB and Associates seeks a Sr Engineer, Geotechnical to lead the technical execution and coordination of complex geotechnical projects for public and private clients from conceptual design through construction. This role emphasizes strong leadership, innovation, and adherence to engineering standards.

The position requires a PE license (TX), 15+ years of experience, and proficiency with geotechnical software and field instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas required.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in A/E/C, including project and team leadership.
• Pre-certification in TxDOT Geotechnical Engineering or related areas preferred.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical investigation, testing, and field instrumentation.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software (MSEW, Slope/W, Slide, PLAXIS, Settle3, Seep/W, Sigma/W, SHAFT, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, SNAIL, Goldnail, gINT, BoreDM, RSLog).
• Experience with CAD/Bluebeam and cloud-based design tools; ProjectWise, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary teams in project design and delivery.
• Develop project plans, technical designs, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Serve as Engineer of Record ensuring compliance with standards and codes.
• Provide high-level technical oversight of calculations and models.
• Lead schedules, budgets, and resource planning for timely delivery.
• Lead client communication and present technical concepts clearly.
• Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges with innovative solutions.
• Support pursuits including proposals, scope, and fee estimation.
• Build and sustain client, agency, and subconsultant relationships.
