Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) is seeking a self-starter Senior Associate Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to expanding our geotechnical engineering practice.

The role involves hands-on field work, diagnostics, and leading complex projects across buildings and infrastructure. The candidate should have a Master’s degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering, 10+ years of experience, and excellent technical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s).
• Master’s degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field.
• Minimum ten years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience with deep foundation design, testing methods, slope stability, and settlement issues.
• Self-starter and growth-oriented to expand the practice.

Responsibilities

• Technical project execution including field work, testing, design and project delivery.
• Project management of multiple concurrent projects and client communication.
• Lead and mentor teammates, review work, and seal documents as Engineer of Record when appropriate.
• Contribute to practice development and industry involvement.
