Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) is seeking a self-starter Senior Associate Geotechnical Engineer to expand our geotechnical engineering practice and serve as a technical SME on a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will hold a Licensed Geotechnical Engineer credential in relevant states, possess a Master’s degree or PhD, and have 10+ years of practical geotechnical experience, with strong communication skills and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Geotechnical Engineer in relevant state(s)
• Master's degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering or related field
• Minimum ten years of relevant geotechnical engineering industry experience
• Dedicated self-starter, motivated to contribute to growth of an expanding practice
• Excellent technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Technical project execution, including field work, testing, and construction administration, with SME leadership
• Day-to-day management of multiple concurrent projects and client/contractor coordination
• Project management including scoping, budgeting, and client expectation management
• Contributions to geotechnical engineering practice and company-wide objectives through knowledge sharing and industry involvement
