Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Surface Alignment with a focus on the Gateway Tunnel Project in the Newark area. The role involves designing and supervising deep foundations, underpinning, excavations, and ground improvement for complex structures in soft ground conditions.

Ideal candidates hold a BSc and an MSc in geotechnical engineering, are a NJ-licensed PE or eligible, and possess 12–15 years’ relevant experience in the NYC metro area.

Qualifications

• BSc in Civil Engineering and an advanced degree in geotechnical engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in New Jersey or eligible.
• Extensive experience with deep foundations and ground improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate geotechnical investigations and fieldwork.
• Prepare Geotechnical Data Reports and foundation design reports.
• Perform design for underground structures and foundations in soils/rock.
• Lead QA/QC of design calculations and reports during construction.
