Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, a multi-disciplinary ENR Top 500 firm, seeks an experienced geotechnical engineer to lead projects and mentor staff in Frederick, MD. The role involves preparing geotechnical reports, supporting field teams, reviewing daily site work, and conducting site visits for a variety of public and private clients.

Candidates should have 12+ years in geotechnical consulting, an ABET-accredited degree, and be eligible for Maryland P.E. licensure within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Local to Frederick region or willing to relocate
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• 12+ years of geotechnical engineering consulting experience
• P.E. license in Maryland or reciprocity within 3 months of hire
• Willingness to mentor junior staff

Responsibilities

• Work with geotechnical and materials testing/inspections teams on diverse projects for public and private clients
• Prepare geotechnical reports and calculations
• Provide technical support to field staff and review daily field reports
• Conduct occasional project site visits and on-site measurements
• May be re-categorized as Managing Principal based on qualifications
