Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. in Frederick, MD seeks a mid to senior geotechnical engineer, P.E., to lead diverse geotechnical, testing and monitoring projects in MD/VA. The role offers collaboration across the firm and travel as needed.

You will manage projects, prepare technical reports and proposals, provide client-facing technical support, and help maintain our standards of quality and safety. A P.E. is required; MS preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. Civil Engineering; M.S. geotechnical preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in geotechnical reports in MD/Northern VA.
• P.E. required.
• Willing to travel and work out of town for short periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical projects from start to finish and prepare reports.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, plans, specs, and client communications.
• Provide geo-technical support to regional project managers/engineers.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure safety and quality standards.
