Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Geotechnical/Civil Engineer for our Lansing or Holland, MI office. You will join the Earth & Environment Team and contribute to projects across solid waste, power, transportation, and infrastructure.

The role covers geotechnical design and analysis, earthworks construction, drainage design, and landfill permitting. Travel may be required; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering.
• 5–7 years of geotechnical/geotechnical and/or civil design and/or construction experience.
• Registration as Engineer-in-Training or licensed Professional Engineer.
• Experience in solid waste/landfill design and construction is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop, scope, and manage small projects.
• Develop and manage subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses and investigations.
• IO civil layout, grading and drainage design and related drawings.
• Prepare engineering design reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist with construction quality assurance and client interaction.
• Travel to project sites as required.
