Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Geotechnical/Civil Engineer for our Lansing or Holland, MI office. You will work within the Earth & Environment Team on projects spanning solid waste, transportation, stormwater, and infrastructure.

The role includes geotechnical design, earthworks, drainage, and landfill permitting with possible travel. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of related experience, PE/EI Journeyman status, and proficiency with Rocscience/GeoStudio/Ensoft along with strong communication and

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelors of Science degree in Geotechnical, Geological or Civil Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in geotechnical, geological and/or civil engineering design and/or construction.
• Registration as Engineer-in-Training or recent Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with geotechnical/earthworks/construction documents and QA/QC processes.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage small to medium projects.
• Oversee subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Perform geotechnical analyses and civil design tasks.
• Prepare reports, drawings, specs, and engineer’s estimates.
• Support construction QA/QC and client interactions.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
