Job summary

Bart & Associates, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the NGA TERPS production software. This full-time, off-site/remote position involves designing, building, testing, and maintaining cloud-based TERPS capabilities for aeronautical and geospatial data.

The role requires extensive software development experience, microservices, cloud deployments, and collaboration across teams in an Agile environment. Expect strong mentorship and security-conscious development practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree or 7 years' experience with a Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience developing and maintaining complex software applications.
• Strong software development experience with modern programming languages, frameworks, APIs, and database technologies.
• Experience developing microservices and/or service-oriented applications.
• Experience with relational databases and database integration.
• Experience with cloud-based application development and/or containerized environments.
• Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
• Experience troubleshooting, debugging, testing, and maintaining production software.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance software supporting NGA's TERPS production mission.
• Develop and maintain web-based application functionality, APIs, database interfaces, and integrations.
• Develop software capable of ingesting, processing, validating, and exchanging complex aeronautical and geospatial data.
• Deploy software in AWS and/or OpenShift cloud environments.
• Participate in Agile development with two-week sprints and release cycles.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Collaborate with Software Architects, other Engineers, SMEs, and Government Product Owners.
