Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Expert-Level Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership in integrating and advancing complex GEOINT capabilities. The role focuses on enterprise systems engineering, requirements traceability, and cross‑boundary integration, with emphasis on commercial products and data workflows.

The position is fully onsite in Chantilly or Springfield, VA, requiring extensive government or IC experience and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field; substitutions allowed for experience.
• 18+ years of government or industry experience in DoD/IC, acquisition, or systems engineering.
• Strong traceability, systems integration, and lifecycle knowledge.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain SCI access and pass a polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor teams across requirements engineering, system architecture, and integration.
• Analyze user requirements, architectures, workflows, and capabilities to enhance existing systems.
• Perform traceability, assess cloud services, and manage scheduling constraints.
• Advise stakeholders on design changes based on mission needs and emerging tech.
• Translate mission needs into defined system requirements and engineering solutions.
• Allocate requirements across architecture components to align with objectives.
• Lead or support system integration across complex environments.
• Contribute to AoA/CoA studies, trade studies, and technical assessments.
• Support strategic technical planning, risk management, and interface design.
• Ensure engineering vision, plans, and processes align with capability development.
• Support multi‑major system acquisitions across organizational and national boundaries.
• Plan and integrate commercial GEOINT capabilities to support national missions.
