Job summary

Roche is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement features for bioinformatics components and sequencing data pipelines. You will work within a fast-paced team to deliver scalable software for Roche sequencing products, collaborating with research and algorithm experts to apply techniques and GPU acceleration for improved performance.

The role requires a strong background in Python and C/C++, experience with NGS data, and proficiency with cloud and Linux

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
5+ years experience with NGS data and data analysis pipelines.
Strong Python skills and data science libraries; familiarity with C/C++.
Experience in large code bases or research repositories.
Understanding of core bioinformatics techniques including alignment methods and neural nets.
Experience collaborating with experimental teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
Fast-paced, self-driven, detail-oriented, analytical.
Proficiency with GCP, AWS and Linux shell environments.
