Job summary

Roche Sequencing seeks a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to design and implement automated verification tests for bioinformatics components and pipelines used in sequencing products.

You will join a team building scalable NGS data analysis software and secure systems to enable researchers and clinicians to make faster, better health decisions. Collaboration with researchers and algorithm experts is essential, with GPU acceleration supporting this work.

Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S./PhD in Software Engineering, Data Science or Computational Biology or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using C++ and practical experience utilizing GPU-accelerated C/C++ libraries.
  • Strong expertise in Python, including numerical computing and data science libraries.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and concepts.
  • Experience designing, documenting and executing verification tests.
  • Be self-driven, detail oriented, analytical and proven ability to learn quickly.
  • Be a team player, customer focused with excellent interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

  • Support software development lifecycle and Design Control process, improving quality and features based on design and requirements.
  • Work with team members to continuously improve the software products and processes.

The Opportunity

As a Bioinformatics Software Engineer, you will design and develop automated verification tests for the bioinformatics components and pipelines that are used in Roche Sequencing products. You will be part of the team developing cutting-edge, distributed, scale-out Next-Generation Sequencing data analysis software to ensure the highest possible software quality for gene sequencing research and disease diagnostics. Work closely with research and algorithm experts, accelerating bioinformatics techniques using GPU hardware. Support software development lifecycle and Design Control process, working closely with team members to continuously improve quality and feature sets of the software products, based on technical design and requirements specifications. Who You Are
  • B.S. or M.S. or PhD in Software Engineering, Data Science or Computational Biology or related field.

Salary & Benefits

Relocation benefits are not available for this posting The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $165,800 - $308,000 annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
