Job summary

CVS Health in Kansas seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI and Generative AI solutions across the enterprise. You will build cloud-native services, collaborate with product, security, and data teams, and deliver scalable, secure AI capabilities.

You will work with AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, LLMs, RAG pipelines, and related tooling to optimize performance, latency, and cost, while adhering to security, privacy, and Responsible AI standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or AI engineering experience.
• 2+ years deploying AI/ML solutions in production.
• Proficiency with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Strong Python skills for scalable app development.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and deploys AI and Generative AI applications using cloud-native services and modern software engineering practices.
• Builds and maintains AI-powered solutions utilizing AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, LLMs, and ML frameworks.
• Develops Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems including vector search, embeddings, and retrieval pipelines.
• Creates and optimizes prompts, workflows, and agentic AI solutions using Bedrock Agents, Vertex AI Builder, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex.
• Develops APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations for scalable AI capabilities.
• Collaborates with product owners, engineers, data and security teams to gather requirements and deliver AI capabilities.
• Writes and executes tests, debugs, conducts code reviews, and monitors production performance.
• Participates in model evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization for performance and cost efficiency.
• Implements AI solutions with security, privacy, governance, and Responsible AI standards (HIPAA, data protection).
• Creates technical documentation and runbooks; shares knowledge with team members.
• Contributes to Agile/SAFe delivery through planning, sprint activities, estimation, and improvements.
• Evaluates new AI tech and cloud services to improve solutions and engineering practices.
