Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is looking for an experienced project leader to manage capital projects across generation, solar, energy storage, and plant demolition. The role requires a strong engineering background, complex program management skills, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams to meet safety, scope, schedule, and budget targets.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in engineering, an ABET-accredited degree, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience with project management background.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work independently.
• Travel as needed; collaborative team player with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage diverse capital projects ensuring safety, scope, schedule and budget adherence.
• Provide guidance on project management strategies and practices to team members.
• Review project documents, budgets, contracts and bid packages for accuracy.
• Develop execution plans with cross-functional input and monitor progress.
• Prepare status reports, risks, issues and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee consultants and contractors and ensure QA/QC compliance.
• Coordinate field execution with FE representatives and ensure timely close-out.
