Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) seeks a General Trades Tech 3 in Gwinnett County to supervise and coordinate facilities maintenance, renovations, and construction activities. You will oversee contractors, review plans, and ensure compliance with safety standards and DHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with three years of building repairs and maintenance experience, or two years at the General Trades Tech 2 level.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are preferred.
• Experience with facilities maintenance, safety practices, and coordinating with contractors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and guides subordinate staff when needed and coordinates maintenance projects.
• Oversees engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities.
• Reviews plans, conducts on-site inspections, and ensures work complies with guidelines.
• Manages parts and supply inventory and coordinates with contractors and vendors.
• Ensures a safe working environment and implements safety programs.
