Job summary

General Trades Tech 2 at the Department of Public Safety’s GPSTC facility is seeking an experienced trades technician to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.

Under general supervision, you will supervise state inmate workers and other staff while ensuring safety standards during daily maintenance tasks. The position runs daytime shifts in Georgia, with responsibilities spanning building systems and equipment.

Qualifications

• One year's experience in building repairs and maintenance.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods in electricity, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and tool use.
• General knowledge of building construction/repair with skill in plumbing fixtures.
• Ability to diagnose maintenance problems.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
• Diploma or GED with two years' experience or one year at General Trades Tech 1

Responsibilities

• Inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and related systems at GPSTC.
• Supervision of state inmate workers and other staff.
• Ensure safe work practices and proper use of equipment.
• Maintain building structures and associated machinery.
