Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking Senior General Superintendents for multiple nationwide locations. The role requires leadership of project teams, coordination of trades, and diligent safety and quality oversight to ensure on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 15+ years of experience on large commercial/industrial projects or multiple projects in a lead superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of labor relations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction software tools.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates Gilbane's trade contractors and their sub-contractors, to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule.
• Supervises and develops the project team.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and Next 150/Site Services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes made in the field.
• Leads site walks with the owner, architect/engineer, and financial institutions to show construction progress.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades, plan ahead, and anticipate problems.
• Obtains or verifies subcontractors obtain all necessary permits.
• Follows-up with AHJ to schedule and complete inspections.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field, monitoring safety performance and compliance.
• Develops safety strategies and drives safety culture across all project personnel.
• Conducts maintenance and planning of workarounds, shutdowns and tie-ins.
• Leads contractor meetings and daily reports review.
• Communicates schedule status and changes to project team and trade contractors.
• Coordinates and manages jobsite logistics.
• Develops the Quality in Construction plan with Operations Excellence team.
