Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking Senior General Superintendents for nationwide opportunities. The role requires leadership across large commercial/industrial projects with relocation and travel as needed.

You will drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery, mentor teams, and collaborate with owners, design teams, and field trades to ensure project success. You will lead safety initiatives, manage budgets, and contribute to business development while advancing within Gilbane's growing project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 15+ years of experience on large commercial/industrial projects or lead superintendent roles.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates trade contractors for quality work and schedule.
• Supervises and develops the project team.
• Manages project budget for general conditions and site services.
• Develops and communicates field work plans for changes.
• Leads site walks with owners, architects, and lenders.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades.
• Verifies permits with subcontractors; coordinates inspections.
• Champions site safety and safety culture across trades.
• Develops safety strategies and safety culture.
• Leads contractor meetings and daily reporting.
• Coordinates jobsite logistics and coordination with parties.
• Develops QIC plan with Operations Excellence; implements changes.
• Mentors junior team members and leads superintendent peer group.
• Engages in business development and preconstruction activities.
• Administers T&M tracking and stretch/flex leadership.
• Leads ground-up construction with foundation experience.
• Engages with the local market and client relationships.
• Supports sales strategies and account planning for growth.
