Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks a General Superintendent- Federal to lead all field operations on a federal project up to $100M. This on-site role drives safety, scheduling, budgeting, and collaboration with owners, trade partners, and project executives.

Ideal candidates bring 10–15+ years of leadership on large-scale construction, OSHA 30, and STS-C certifications, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10–15+ years on large commercial/industrial projects or multiple projects in a lead superintendent role.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• STS-C Certification.
• Experience supervising a project team and coordinating with owners, trades, and unions.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and sub-contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Manages the project budget for general conditions and site services.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the field work plan for changes.
• Maintains understanding of contract documents to anticipate problems.
• Ensures permits are obtained for construction activities.
• Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains daily reports and project schedules.
• Plans and manages jobsite logistics and site services.
