Guckenheimer/ISS in California seeks a General Manager to lead multi-unit food service operations, driving performance, safety, and client satisfaction in line with contract requirements.

The role emphasizes staffing, budgeting, procurement, HACCP compliance, and staff development within a fast-paced hospitality environment. SERV Safe certification and culinary education are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years General Management experience in multi-unit food environment or food service.
• Experience managing a team of management and staff of 50+ employees (hourly and salaried).
• Proven leadership: building, managing, and leading a large culinary and hospitality team.
• Passion for hospitality, innovation, and creative experiences.
• SERV Safe Certified or ability to be certified immediately after hire.
• Graduate of an accredited Culinary Institution or Hospitality program preferred.
• Managing within a union environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Satisfy client and customer needs by providing high-quality, cost-effective food service.
• Develop menus with Guckenheimer standards to meet location needs.
• Interview and hire unit staff in accordance with regulations.
• Lead staff training and development programs as instructed by the Area Manager.
• Maintain accurate financial records including forecasting, budgets, and payroll.
• Prepare and monitor unit operating budgets with client guidance.
• Maintain sanitary operation per health regulations and HACCP guidelines.
• Establish communication channels with customers and client management for improvements.
• Manage procurement, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
• Coach employees and conduct performance appraisals.
• Schedule staff and conduct regular employee meetings.
