Job summary

Minth Tawas Manufacturing in East Tawas, MI is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our expanding Finance team. You will coordinate monthly close, prepare journal entries, and support HQ reporting and audits.

The role requires 3-5 years in manufacturing accounting, a Bachelor’s in accounting, and strong communication to interact with the Controller and auditors. Competitive salary offered with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role within a manufacturing facility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and variances.
• Reconcile and analyze General Ledger accounts; prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile inventory in-transit and payable accounts; prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Review and approve staff journal entries before posting to the General Ledger.
• Review Financial Statements for accuracy.
• Prepare the HQ reporting package.
• Analyze financial reports, including budget to actuals; explain differences.
• Assist in preparing for external financial statement audit; prepare schedules and address auditor requests.
