Job summary

Minth Tawas Manufacturing in East Tawas, MI is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our expanding Finance team within a fast-growing automotive-sector company.

You will manage month-end close processes, maintain general ledger accounts, and deliver accurate financial statements and HQ reports. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, manufacturing experience, and the ability to handle multiple shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Accounting degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years experience in an accounting role within a manufacturing facility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work different hours and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and variances.
• Reconcile and analyze General Ledger accounts; prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile and analyze inventory in-transit and payable accounts; prepare adjustments.
• Review and approve staff journal entries before posting to the General Ledger.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and prepare HQ reporting package.
• Analyze financial reports (budget vs. actual) and explain differences.
• Assist in external financial statement audits and sales/use tax audits, providing schedules and support.
• Support internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and related analyses.
