Job summary

Jobot in Addison, Vermont is recruiting a General Ledger Accountant for a permanent, on-site role. You will manage daily accounting operations, maintain the general ledger, and prepare financial statements for senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance and 5+ years’ manufacturing experience, with expertise in GL, year-end close, and strong Excel skills. CPA/CMA is a plus and the position offers strong pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
• Strong financial reporting skills including year-end and budgeting.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end close.
• Hands-on with FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including month-end and year-end processes.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries.
• Balance and reconcile the general ledger regularly.
• Summarize financial information and prepare balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Complete internal audits and recommend procedural improvements.
• Assist in developing and implementing the annual budget in the GL system.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and regulations in all transactions.
