Job summary

AutoZone in Memphis, TN seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer to lead Generative AI initiatives across the enterprise. You will drive the deployment of AI products, coordinate cross-functional teams, and bring the first market-ready version from concept to production.

You will train, fine-tune, and deploy LLMs on proprietary data, build RAG-based chatbots, and apply vector-based retrieval with Elasticsearch/Solr to optimize operations and decision making.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of machine learning experience with focus on information retrieval, NLP/NLU, and LLMs.
• Experience with traditional keyword-based search and vector-based retrieval systems.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript ecosystem (TypeScript/Node).
• Cloud experience with GCP or Azure.
• Experience with TensorFlow and enterprise-grade AI deployments.
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration across multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of Generative AI products and drive market-ready version releases.
• Train, fine tune, and deploy LLM solutions on proprietary data.
• Develop and implement RAG-based chatbots using advanced retrieval and re-ranking techniques.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deploy AI solutions and monitor outcomes.
